Nusa Penida is the biggest of the three Nusa Islands (and most epic), located just off from mainland Bali. BUT did you know it’s only a 30-minute boat trip from the Sanur Harbor in Bali so it’s VERY easy to reach quickly for a Nusa Penida day trip if you are staying in Canggu, Seminyak, or Kuta. There are so many awesome things to do on Nusa Penida Island and there are two main different Nusa Penida day trip tours I suggest you look at.

1. Kelingking Beach

Kelingking Beach is a secluded and scenic beach in the village of Bunga Mekar on the southwestern coast of Nusa Penida Island. One of its most popular landmarks is a plant-covered limestone headland, with massive waves crashing against it. This unique formation resembles the shape of a T-Rex’s head, so Kelingking is often called the T-Rex Bay of Bali.

2.Diamond Beach

Diamond Beach is located in Banjar Pelilit, Panjungutan Village, Nusa Penida Islands, the location is close to the Atuh Beach , while this beach is as beautiful as the beach where it is surrounded by large cliffs and some coral reefs on the beach that make the scenery amazing, many domestic and foreign tourists visit this place to enjoy the beautiful views of the beach or just swim on the beach. To go to the beach steps are taken down to the bottom, not suitable for people with asthma or pregnant people.

4. Atuh Beach

Atuh Beach is located in the Banjar Pelilit, Pejukutan Village, Nusa Penida Islands, this beach is very often visited for those who travel to the eastern part of Nusa Penida, this beach offers beautiful views where around the coast is surrounded by high cliffs, and to get to this place you must down the stairs for about 20 minutes, not suitable for those who have asthma and for pregnant people. 1. Seminyak Beach

Located in Seminyak, Kuta, this spot is popular amongst tourists alike. Many people love to enjoy strolling in the late afternoon here. And its nightlife is full of vibrance!

You can enjoy the setting sky around Double Six Beach. Lay on its sand or sit on a chair and watch the sunset. Plenty of cafes and restaurants here showcase amazing sea views, too. 2. Uluwatu Temple

Stick around for the nightly Kecak Fire Dance to get a glimpse into some Balinese culture and history. Just beware of the monkeys. 3. Jimbaran Bay

When you mention the word ‘Jimbaran’ anywhere in Indonesia and people often will make the connection with grilled seafood. The bay itself has a pleasant white sand beach and is very safe for swimming.

Jimbaran is only a 10 minute taxi ride from Kuta, 20 minutes from Sanur and 15 minutes from Nusa Dua making it accessible. Jimbaran is a small town located about two miles south of the Bali airport, set close to the road leading from Pura Luhur Uluwatu, about fifteen minutes’ drive from the temple.

4. Amed, Karangasem

When you visit Amed there is one view you will almost see from any corner, the mighty Mount Agung volcano. Especially when the sun goes down, there is one spot you have to go to watch a beautiful Bali sunset. It is Jemeluk viewpoint where you will see the sun going down behind the Agung volcano. As there is also a warung at this viewpoint, you can get a chair and table, order a Bintang or cocktail and just enjoy the view.

5. Tanah Lot Temple

Tanah Lot Temple is one of Bali’s most important landmarks, which is famed for its unique offshore setting and sunset backdrops. An ancient Hindu shrine perched on top of an outcrop amidst constantly crashing waves; Tanah Lot Temple is simply among Bali’s not-to-be-missed icons.

The onshore site of the Tanah Lot temple complex is dotted with smaller shrines together with visitors’ leisure facilities that comprise restaurants, shops and a cultural park where regular dance performances are shown regularly. The temple is located in the Beraban village of the Tabanan regency, an approximate 20km north-west of Kuta. It is often included on sightseeing and cultural tours to Bali’s western and central regions.

6. Nusa Lembongan

One of the closest island retreats off the Bali mainland, Nusa Lembongan’s main beach – Jungut Batu – is west-facing and has a gorgeous stretch of white sand. Nearby is a hilly area that serves as an upmarket villa neighbourhood. Whether you’re down at the beach or up on the hill, you get wonderful views of the sun setting behind the silhouette of Bali’s Mount Agung on the horizon.

7. Echo Beach, Canggu

Echo Beach is one of Bali’s most popular surf spots. The nickname overshadows its local name ‘Pantai Batu Mejan’, which takes after a significant Balinese Hindu sea temple on site. Sharing the serene rice field-landscaped region of Canggu with other wave-riding spots such as Berawa, Seseh and Pererenan, Echo Beach has become most popular due to its advanced reef breaks, 180-degree seascape and sunsets, as well as delicious seafood cafes set on a high vantage point.

The black-sand beach is approximately 35 km northwest of Kuta and Seminyak, and a 14-km drive west from the provincial capital of Denpasar. For those staying in one of the many luxury villas in Canggu, this coastal region can be reached by a 45-minute transfer from Ngurah Rai International Airport in Tuban, South Bali. Past the upscale area of Seminyak, the journey further west takes you to Canggu’s green expanses of paddies, which remain well-kept and tended to by local Balinese villagers.

8. Kuta Beach

Kuta Beach is a 2.5-km stretch of cream-coloured sand, bordering Legian to the north and Tuban (home of the Ngurah Rai International Airport) to the south. This beach on Bali’s southwestern coast is one of the most popular resort areas in Bali. It’s even more recognised among international visitors than the island itself – thanks to its combined features of sun, sand and surf.

Accommodation ranges from cheap guesthouses to 5-star hotels and resorts, plus thriving bars, nightclubs and multi-storey shopping malls. Despite the modern and urbanised feel of Jalan Pantai Kuta, the main beach road that runs parallel the coastline, the beach of Kuta continues to appeal – it’s still a place for Bali’s magical sunsets.

9. Single Fin – Uluwatu

Single Fin is Uluwatu’s hippest cliff-top bar that evolved from a surfers’ hangout into a fully-fledged sunset chill-out and live entertainment spot. The bar is usually packed at sunset and over the weekends when jam sessions take place.

At any given time however, you can simply go up to the bar and order a cold Bintang to enjoy with the view until the sky turns crimson. Non-surfers can simply kick back and enjoy the gruelling action displayed by the pros riding the waves below. Single Fin then brings Suluban Beach, otherwise known as Blue Point, to life with its great live music roster featuring a line-up of international guest DJs and notable local bands.
